2009 Norway Water Hardness Level—270 PPM, 14 grains, and PH is 7.3
Once a year the Norway Water Department runs a partial chemistry test to determine our water hardness level. This information is particularly helpful for those citizens wishing to add a water softner.
FREE New Automated Water Meters
The water department is in the process of automating all of its water meters. The majority of our customers still need their old water meter replaced. Installation of the new meter normally takes five minutes. Please call city hall and schedule an appointment
If you are uncertain if you need a new meter, call city hall and we will check for you,
(906) 563-9961 ext 201 or email us at:utilitybilling@norwaymi.com
Installation of auto-read meters will help eliminate the need to make duplicate trips to homes or businesses that do not have "easy access" to read the water meter. They will also eliminate most visual reads allowing for a much more efficient and accurate data collection process.
